What began as personal support for blind students has grown into an Ethiopian nonprofit advancing dignity, access and equal opportunity.
Founder Ato Woldeher Yezengaw began supporting girls with visual impairments and blind church deacons in 1999. From 2012, he dedicated personal income to help blind women at Addis Ababa University overcome educational and social barriers.
Lemelem and Woldeher Perpetual Charity Organization was formally established by Ghion's sister companies on August 20, 2024, under Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 1113/2019, with registry number 7375.
